EMF EURO 2022 showed the beauty of Slovakia
At the beginning of June 2022 Slovakia hosted EMF EURO 2022 and participants from 24 countries had the opportunity to discover the beauty of eastern Slovakia. Now, only 3 months later the minifootball community focus on EMF EUROCUP that will be held close to Slovakia, only less than 2 hours drive from the borders.

On the highway to the north, you will be dragged in by the energy of the country's second-largest city. A trip to Kosice awaits you - full of street art, amazing Gothic sights, and catacombs right under Hlavná ulica (Main Street). Not only UNESCO caves, but also world oldest opal mines are within the reach. You can go for a wine tasting in the Tokaj micro-region and try how it feels to be a pilot in a MIG. Take a trip to Slovakia, it's so close.

Enjoy both street art and the cathedral for 5000 people
With 99% certainty, it is number 1 in online space under the keyword “Kosice”. We are talking about St. Elizabeth's Cathedral, which has been standing in the city center for more than 500 years. The Cathedral is enormous. It forms the eastern border of the high Gothic in Central Europe, and you can enjoy the view even from its tower. Rent a designer Dutch bicycle or an urban e-bike and explore the mecca of Europe's oldest marathon. The city is also famous for its creative skills. Take a tour of the street art gallery, go to the K13 art district with architecture from the 1950s and 1960s, or wander deeper into the Middle Ages. In the impressive catacombs of the Dolná brána (Lower Gate), you will also discover the Museum of the Tokaj Wine Route.

A place where you will be 100% childlike curious
You will see iconic MIGs, helicopters, and historic flying machines with your own eyes. Up to 7,000 m2 of the Slovak Aviation Museum in Košice are filled with winged equipment, rare historical engines, and tributes to pilots from World War II, but also with retro cars. The technical icons in the hangars of the museum are Czechoslovak-made airplanes, and the Nanchang Q-5 fighter from China, which is unique in Europe. If you once had a little Lindbergh or Earhart slumbering in you, then you will find your place here. By the way, the inventor of the first recognized parachute was the Slovak Štefan Banič. He managed this masterpiece in 1913.

Don't miss the opal underground
Not far from Košice, you can enjoy an adventure trip through the oldest opal mines on Earth. It was here that they found Harlequin - the world's largest opal, which is now the pride of a museum in Vienna. The corridors are impressive 35 km long and their nooks and crannies are pure magic studded with jewels that even Napoleon's wife used to adorn herself with. Do you dare to go for a 40-meter-long extra experience? Take courage and try to walk through the darkness with only a guide rope. Relax with a glass of excellent Tokaj
Of the country's six wine-growing regions, Tokaj is unique due to its volcanic subsoil and size. Slovak Tokaj near the border with Hungary has 907 hectares and is the smallest wine region in the world. Nectars, such as the Tokaj essence from cibeba (grape berries attacked by a noble mold), are such a treasure and pride of local winemakers that they only make it to the market in exceptional cases. A rarity of the Tokaj wine route is the medieval volcanic cellars in the villages of Malá and Veľká Trňa or Viničky, where you will be welcomed with wine and goodies. While tasting delicious wine, you can also visit Chateau Grand Bari, which will appeal to you with its design from the first moment. So, cheers and for victories!
