PENALTY DRAMA ON THE FINAL DAY OF THE EUROCUP.

ACS Arsenal v FC Elektrowozniak got us underway on finals day and a very tight but entertaining match went all the way to penalties and the Romanians were victorious and booked themselves a place in the final.

There they met FC Temp, after the Ukrainians also booked their final place in a shootout, this time against Budmax from Poland.

So we were all set, two teams from Group A, who’d already done battle in an earlier round (FC Temp won 2-1) were about to go into the arena again, this time with the EMF EuroCup trophy at stake.

The opening half was electric and feisty, with FC Temp twice taking the lead, only to be pegged back by the boys from Iasi.

The game finished 2-2 after both teams appeared to settle for a shootout late on, and it was the Arsenal Goalkeeper who was the hero as he saved two spot kicks, and it was another victory for Romania, after FC Nova Vita won the EMF Champions League a week earlier.

It’s been a brilliant tournament with lots of highs and lows, and after 32 teams started out and 63 matches were played, we could only have one winner, and that is, ACS Arsenal Iasi.
